talking about 2024. first lady, jill biden, just give one of the clear signs yet that president biden will run for reelection giving the associated press, there's pretty much nothing less to do but figure at the time in place for the announcement. and for the president there actually maybe no better time than the president, a new and pr poll has biden with his highest travel rating it almost a year. 49% among registered voters. many have donald trump who is not tearing as well, according to the same poll. the majority of republicans, and right-leaning independents prefer someone other than trump at the top of the gop ticket. it is one of several recent indicators that trump's grip on the republican party might actually be slipping. in the report from the washington post plans that even some of the ex presidents most faithful supporters are now suffering from the dreaded trump fatigue. the post interviewed more than

150 trump supporters and they found that although he maintains a bond with his base, many voters have expressed interest in finding a new standard. one interviewer said i, and a lot of other republicans were supportive of president trump are becoming less and less supportive. not because i am a never trumper, i just don't believe that trump is a best person to move this party forward. ouch. just this morning, republican national committee chair, ronna mcdaniel, through a new program at trump three loyalty pledge. she said all candidates wishing to take part in the republican party's first debate must promise to support the eventual 2024 nominee. that's been used to trump who said earlier this month of his potential support would quote, depend on the nominee. it almost seems like that pledges designed to knock trump, and only trump. we know the 2024 election is ages from now.

but what is happening at this point could set the stage for the rest of the primary cycle. here is what we are seeing tonight. democrats are coalescing around president biden at the time that he needs it most, republicans are fleeing from trump at the worst possible time for the ex president. earlier i spoke with democratic congresswoman, but really of california about the presidential race, her own 2024 race for the u.s. senate and more. congresswoman lee, thank you so much for joining us today. let's start with president biden for a moment. after racking up a series of political winds, the president is seeing some of his highest approval ratings in almost a year. we are expecting him to officially renounced his reelection any day now. is joe biden the right candidate for democrats in 2024 and does the answer depend on who republicans nominate? >> it is nice to be with you. let me just respond by thing i

think that he absolutely is the right candidate for president next year. when you look at, first of all, the context and environment in which he took over in terms of people dying and getting very sick from covid-19 pandemic, making sure that he puts forth measures to save lives and livelihoods, that was a big deal. we are still not over it but we are moving toward an environment where people feel safe now. he put forth the infrastructure plan, the inflation reduction act, we did so much with regard to chips, bringing jobs back into america, good paying union jobs. he worked very hard to develop the vision and address the climate crisis. he has done an amazing job. to ensure that racial equity, gender, lgbtq plus equity is included in every single policy that he puts forward. >> let me move on to another

2024 race, one that will be watched very closely, expected to be one of the most expensive ever and that is your bid to be california's next senator. talk to us about why you decided to throw your hat into the ring. more importantly, how do you plan to stand apart from your democratic colleagues who have also declared their candidacies like representative adam schiff and katie porter? >> i intend to put forth to the voters my accomplishments the first of all, and what i planted a liver to california voters for many years. as the progressive african american woman, i connect with voters and many of their daily challenges, and their experiences. i will move forward in my campaign, which is what i am doing now. talking to people who have never been seen, for example. people who are living on the edges. i want to focus on some issues that really aren't lifted up in campaigns by helping make life

better for people such as poverty, elimination. we have over 140 million people living in poverty in the united states over 20 million in california. food insecurity. any inequality in general, looking at the climate crisis, bringing forth new ways of addressing public safety. every community wants to be safe. how does, in california has an extremely severe housing emergency. looking at issues that we can tackle at the federal level in the senate to address housing in a comprehensive way. >> if elected, you would become the third black female senator in our country's history, black women are often described as the backbone of the democratic party. we saw that even in 2024 and the turnaround that joe biden had in south carolina, why do you think that they have struggled to gain the representation in the upper chamber that they deserve? >> well representation does matter and let me just remind you that the first house and

senate went into session in 1789. since then, to african american women have served a total of ten years. senator kamala harris and former senator, the lens of black women are extremely important. the lens of everyone in this country are very important, in the senate, of course we have all of the challenges that black women, and women of color continue to face and still we move forward and breaking these barriers. financing, funding campaigns, we have to get the public financing of campaign because black women have many barriers to raising money. but we still move forward and look at what mayor busted in her phenomenal race. $9 million she won, $100 million which her opponents spent. yes, black women have dealt with many challenges and barriers that this country has been embedded in its dna. you know what? every time we break those

barriers were not breaking it only for ourselves but we do that for everyone. we bring everyone to the table. it is important that the strength and lens and experience of black women being included in the senate base and in the senate legislation of policies. it is outrageous that we do not have that perspective in the senate. >> speaking of rights and policies, let's switch gears to a looming decision that we are expecting out of texas. a trump appointed judge could ban abortion pills nationwide. you have been an outspoken critic about your overthrowing of roe v. wade and speaking of your pre roe abortion, undergoing what you call a back alley abortion in mexico. are you fearful that women once again will resort to the interest procedures if these safe and effective methods are continuously stripped away from women and its country? >> millions of people use

medication abortion. it is safe, and i am worried that the clinics will be overwhelmed once again because the patients from other states that have banned abortions also need treatment in addition to that, they need miscarriage treatment. so we are waiting to see what this decision will render. we are waiting to see what exactly it will stay. but believe you me, this is a terrible precedent to set because it really hamper the fda for moving forward on developing other drugs and other fda approved drugs if in fact they -- the supreme court rules against medication abortion. millions of people rely on this and it is wrong to take this, another way to help people control and make decisions of their own body is, this is another rollback on our basic rights. it is up to people to decide what they want to do with their

own medical decisions. and medication abortion is an option that people should have and it should be their decision, not the court, nor politicians. >> before we go, i want to ask you about a bill you proposed this week. i would argue a pretty bold bill. it is the people over pentagon act, which would cut the pentagon's budget by 100 billion dollars per year. you have suggested refocusing that money on other priorities like infrastructure, health care, and education. what is your message to those who think a cutting budget, or cutting the budget of defense spending makes us less safe, especially as the world becomes more dangerous with russia and china on the rise? >> you know what it does, cutting 100 billion, when you look at the defense budget over 850 billion compared to the budget which i shared on the committee on appropriations for the last 64 billion for development and diplomacy, come on. we've got to have a balance

national security strategy. 100 billion, when you look at the waste, fraud, and abuse inherent in the pentagon budget that has not even passed an audit yet, when you look at the defense contractors misuse in tax dollars, scamming the system, you cannot tell me that 100 billion will pamper. we had military experts show us and make sure that we understood that that is not going to touch any effort that would harm our troops, it is not going to make a dent in our ability to share national security. but what it will do is begin to address the abuse of taxpayer dollars so that we can have the resources here in our own country for education, and housing, and health care, for the climate, for all of the issues that the american people so deserve. 100 billion out of 858 billion versus 64 billion for diplomacy, for preventing wars, come on. this is a modest measure.

comcast business. powering possibilities. who lost their midterm races are still finding ways to wield power and influence elections in this country despite their losses. as we first reported last week, kristina karamo who has yet to concede her loss in michigan as secretary of state has been

elected chair of that state's republican party. mike brown, an election conspiracy theorist won the same position over in kansas earlier this month. , and colorado, tina peters who is facing felony charges officials at the 2020 election was rigged, which of course it was, not has announced that she is also running to beat her state's republican party chair. these are rules with outsized impacts, real impact. -- and recruit poll workers, and tonight there is new information about an elected official who hid information about the 2020 election results from his constituents. in arizona, the state's former attorney general, mark brown of it, a republican withheld findings that he debunked claims of fraud in the 2020 election. governor katie hobbs is now seeking an ethics review from him in that case. joining me to discuss this and a whole lot more as colorado

secretary of state, janet criswell. she is the chair of the democratic association of secretaries of state. secretary criswell, it is great to see you again, thank you for coming back on the show. i would like to get your thoughts on these election deniers. picking up some powerful positions within the republican party, republican chair positions, tina peters wants to do the same, it appears that these republicans are adamant about finding positions of influence to push their unfold beliefs. >> first off, thank you for having me on, always great to join you. we are continuing to see that democracy is not quite out of the woods. we are seeing conspiracy theorists run to take over states, party, republican parties. including kenneth peters who is facing seven felony counts for compromising her own voting equipment. but more than just that, a handful of election deniers are now secretaries of state overseeing the nation's elections. there is over 150 election

deniers and the house of representatives. six and the u.s. senate. and the chief election denier, the conspiracy theorist and chief, is again running for president. so we are seeing election denialism continue to be peddled. but the big thing to focus in on is not the conspiracy theories and themself, but the fact that the conspiracy theories are used as justification to suppress the vote and destabilize american elections. everybody needs to pay attention, we took a great stuff to save democracy in the midterms, and we have to do it again this cycle. >> what does it say that republicans like former arizona attorney general, mike brown of age, do not want the public to know that voter fraud is almost nonexistent. he has announcing its last march that claims of fraud in 2020 were unfounded, and now reportedly hidden. >> we know that a lot of these elected officials know that they are lying to the american

public. a lot of these conspiracies are so farfetched that it is obvious that the people who are spouting them do not believe it. we know from documents, for example, just released in the last couple of weeks from fox news that lives are being pushed out. we now know that the arizona, the former arizona attorney general disregarded a report that he himself commissioned, that proved that his unfounded lies were just that, lives. again, it is not about the conspiracies, it is not some on the extreme right are using the conspiracies to take away the fundamental freedom to vote. just this year, this year alone, over 170 bills are being considered, either profiled, or already introduced and state legislators across this nation, to suppress the vote or to undermine election in ministration. we have to continue to shed light on the lies, truth to the conspiracies, and americans

need to continue to do exactly what they are doing and that is holding these election deniers accountable and pushing back on the voter suppression bills that have been introduced over the last several years. >> you talk about voter suppression, i want to ask you about that because voting rights and integrity of elections, they are really interconnected there is no doubt about that. and there is a new report by the defendant democracy progress, which highlights how maga republicans have used voter suppression as a key strategy, and that their policies depressed turnout, especially for black voters. how do we undo this harm, and excuse me, rebuild trust with these marginalized communities that we are up against, ongoing voter suppression efforts? >> this nation has to re-commit itself to democracy. we need to make sure that americans know that the way forward to better wages, and making sure that we are getting in front of climate change, to making sure that some of your kids to school is affordable, or getting sick does not send you into bankruptcy.

that the way to continue progresses through democracy. a strong man won't care for the middle class. on the way to that, making sure that democracy works for everybody, we have got to stop the voter suppression bills where we can. very luckily there are several states that are going to be doing great work this legislative session to open up access. we also need prosecutors to engage and when bad actors try to compromise voting equipment or elections or threaten election workers, we need states to tighten lots and prosecutors to really prosecute. at the end of the day, we know that the recent extremism has been able to take such a strong hold on our nations narrative, and have real effect is because government does not quite work for the people. it does not work for people like me who grew up in rural colorado in a cabin with an out house outside. that is why we need to demand bigger democracy reform. that stopping voter suppression, having mail ballots for every

eligible person, same-day voter registration, stopping the gerrymandering and getting all of the money out of our politics. it is a hard task but i know that we will do it one day in this country. >> let me ask you more narrowly about election workers. several democratic senators are calling on the department of homeland security to prioritize funding for election security and offer support to election officials, many of whom we know have left their jobs because of conspiracy fueled threats against them. what kind of impact could these additional funding have on the local level? >> it could have a huge impact. election workers and secretaries of state who have been standing up for the right to vote, and for democracy have been in the crosshairs of these conspiracies. make no mistake that the extreme republicans and their rhetoric, it has incited violence. it incited the insurrection, it incited the can upping attempt

against gretchen whitmer, the attack on paul pelosi. for me specifically, two men have been charged for threatening my life for being secretary of state. having those added resources i think will go a big way. one in three election workers have stepped away in the last couple of years because they do not like the underscore that we are having to work. so we need to get resources to the local levels. i am so proud of the election workers, republicans, and democrats who show up every single election to make sure that every eligible person, republican, democrat, and unaffiliated can have their voice heard in american elections. >> colorado secretary of state, janet griswold, it is always a pleasure. thank you for coming back on the show, madam secretary. >> thank you. >> ahead, a national trend, incidents of police using deadly force, initial reports from officials are misleading, incomplete, or wrong. we will tell you about that. bout that.

is the first rough draft of history. but what happens when that draft is braced on a lie? when the so-called facts that we are given to journalists can turn out to be falsehoods? on the show, we have covered several incidents of high-profile police killings. and from those incidents, a pattern has emerged. when the use of deadly forces involved, initial statements from police often turned out to be vague, incomplete, misleading or straight up false. back in 2014, the new york police departments narrative of eric garner's death was that he had simply gone into cardiac arrest. an initial five-page report of the arrest did not make any mention of any officer placing his hands on gardeners neck. video taken by bystanders eventually expose the truth. that video showed one officer

locking eric garner in a chokehold. 43 year old fought -- i can't breathe, 11 times. while lying face down on the psych walk. in march 2020, an incident report for the police raid that led to the death of breonna taylor claimed there was no forced entry. that report also listed taylor's injuries as quote, not. but audio recordings that were later made public, officers admitted to using a battery ram to break down taylor's front door. after which, they shot her. multiple times in the chest, abdomen, arm, thigh and foot. breonna taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. if you months after that, police in minneapolis released a statement titled, man dies after medical incident during police interaction. the statement describes the situation where officers, after apprehending the suspect, noted that he quote, appear to be suffering medical distress.

that man was george floyd. bystander video later showed ex police officer derek chauvin played pressing his knee on her -- more than nine minutes as floyd begged for his life. and that brings us to january 8th, of this year. that is when officers in memphis released this statement about a incident with took place during a traffic stop the previous night. it recounts a quote, confrontation between officers and a suspected reckless driver. police said the male leader revealed to be 29 year old tyre nichols fled the scene on foot, leading to another quote, confrontation. statement goes on to say that after officers took nichols into custody, that quote, the suspect complained of having a shortness of breath and an ambulance was called to the scene. now videos of the arrest showed no evidence of nichols driving recklessly. but those videos do show us what the so-called confrontation actually was. a brutal assault with officers

repeatedly punching, kicking, and beating tyre nichols with a baton. this is an unexpected double pattern and one, let's be clear here, that the media is also responsible for. let's take that pressure least from the -- regarding george floyd. the man who wrote that statement, the departments public information director, he later told the l.a. times that he got his information from sergeants and computer aided dispatch. he said he wasn't provided any video footage of the encounter prior to drafting his an accurate state statement. but some news organizations repeat that incorrect information from police, taking their statement as fact. those earlier reports, the first rough drafts of history on george floyd's death, they contain falsehoods. and journalism, there is something called the two source rule. it means that a reporter should not sherine's of formation with the public without at least two independent sources corroborating that information.

so, i have to ask, why is law enforcement often held to a different standard? look. we as journalists should not always take with the police say at face value. and i should know. many times, we can rely on the police for accurate information. and we have to. however, there is another adage in journalism. trust but verify. and this pattern, for police departments across the country, pattern of misrepresentation, demonstrates that the news media needs to reassess how it uses and relies on information from police. we must question, initial accounts from police. we must apply the same standards we would to any other source of information, and we must not assume statements from the police are facts. if we do so, we are doing a disservice to our industry, and we are doing a disservice to those who died at the hands of police. we will be right back. will be right back. boost your team's productivity

remember this time last year when russia first invaded ukraine and most of the world, including right here in america, voice their unambiguous support for ukraine? and since then, elected democrats, including president biden have almost uniformly remained united in that support? but, over the past year, republicans have been more and more split over ukraine. on one side, if republicans like mitch mcconnell saying the road to peace lies in speedily surging ukraine the tools they need to achieve victory. senator mitt romney -- america will not shrink from supporting freedom. those republicans on this one issue are relatively sane. but, there is a growing and very vocal faction of the party, mostly on the far-right, who have very different views. people like national divorce queen herself, marjorie taylor greene, who called president biden's visit to kyiv this week, insulting, saying he quote, chose ukraine over america. florida governor ron desantis said that the u.s. aid is a

unacceptable open-ended blank check. normally we wouldn't give much weight to the words of marjorie taylor greene or on desantis, who has no cui overanxious that the federal government takes, certainly not even our foreign policy. but the thing is, both of these people have growing influence within the party so their words actually do matter. green especially has influence over kevin mccarthy and especially after that embarrassing 15 round house beaker vote and with dissent is gearing up for a possible presidential run kevin mccarthy's also seems to be listening to his words more and more. just this week he said he doesn't support a quote, blank check to ukraine. i wonder where he heard that from. joining me now is my sunday night panel former, democratic congressman -- and presidency eo -- msnbc maria teresa coworker. sorry about that. congressman, as a former member of congress what do you make of

this division and you see those on the far-right having growing influence over the way that conversation about ukraine is happening? >> yeah. good evening eamonn. look, i don't think that they have a growing influence, per se. i have to tell you, kevin mccarthy has been a right-wing extremist for quite some time. it really does not surprise me that he is in line with marjorie taylor greene, paul gosar, and some of the other right-wing extreme maga republican congress members. i think he has showed us very quickly, right after the attempted coup in january 6th, when he went back to trump's palace, here in mar-a-lago, to once again show his commitment to the maga movement and he did it again when he was elected as speaker of the house. so, i don't think that there is influence on kevin mccarthy, i think he is part of the extreme maga movement. it is extremely worrisome. because the same people that are trying to destroy our democracy here in america are

the ones that are right now repeating russian talking points and are undermining the strength of ukraine at a moment where it is extremely critical for us to continue our support for freedom and democracy and for the people of ukraine. >> and maria, should democrats be highlighting this divide and using it to their political advantage? we have seen in recent polls, support for funding the war effort. going down, so it could backfire if they decide to do that. but at the same time, there is so much at stake with the help for ukraine and russia and china's advance, if america does collapse. >> -- political crisis of our time. if we do not figure out and make sure that we are safeguarding ukraine geopolitically, it is sing -- to the rest of the autocrats, when we are talking about china, iran, that we are allowing for the autocrats to actually rise for the 21st century. and this is something that president biden, the moment he took power, you may recall,

back in 2021, the very first time that he addressed the nation, he was very clear. we are at a crossroads in the 24 century. are we going to choose, in the world order, to be a democracy or autocracy? and the idea that there are republicans that claim to be patriots that are siding with russia, says everything we need to know about who they are. these are the same people that were okay with an attempted coup at our nation's capital. this is why we are continuing having conversations about why what are the reasons that some of these folks are in the communities that they are. mccarthy needs to pick a backbone. he actually needs to recognize that now he is the speaker of the house, he is the speaker of the house for all of america, for our democracy. and are we will continue to watch closely to what the white house says, just as easily as we watch very closely what pelosi says. pelosi is very clear on what happened on the january 6th committee. i believe that she will be continuing to tell us what the true north is.

let's not kid ourselves. this is not whether or not we are continue to fund ukraine because it is nice to have. we are talking about the world order. i know that sounds so big, especially on a sunday night, aim in, but it is something that is very serious. because -- individuals, scholars around the world recognized the jewel political strength of the ukraine when it comes to democracy. >> congresswoman, excuse me, can you expand on that four point, talk about in terms of how the world would see us if -- division -- and we reverse course of ukraine at this point? >> i agree completely with my good friend, what maria teresa saying here. because, what we are seeing is the shift of the balance of power. it really is, china is watching very closely. they are trying to see if the united states is going to portray that strength along with nato allies in this fight against russia. this was an unprovoked war that russia started. this is putin's war.

and what message are we sending to china? that, in the united states, the same people that are trying to incite a confrontation and have a hard line against trying to, at the same time is right now questioning our support for ukraine? if russia wins this war, which at this moment, we know that they are becoming weaker and weaker, but if that were to happen, it is signaling to china that there is a open door there for them to have an aggression against taiwan. we can't allow this to happen. so my call is to these extreme republicans that are questioning our support for ukraine, what is your point and what message are you sending to china? they love to talk about china. in the chinese balloons and what we need to do in confrontation with china. but when it comes to the fight for this geopolitical power and the balance of power between authoritarian regimes and democracy, they are siding with putin. so it has to stop. >> so, speaking of putin, maria, what do you think someone like vladimir putin is thinking right now? is he just like, let me see if

i can hold on until desantis comes into office and i have to deal with a republican president, desantis who is pulling the plug on support for ukraine? >> whether or not what he wants for our elections? absolutely. -- putin. he is -- i also think that he is surprised by how agile biden has been in making sure that the united states is leading again. he is surprised that nato is as strong as it is. he has surprised that europe is as strong as it is. and i think when you are starting to read a lot of the tea leaves -- in russia, his streak within russia is not as strong as it was. because he had a lot of the oligarchs who are trying to question his leadership. i do believe that he is definitely on the fence. but what we are going to see in the next six months, whether the united states continues with allies in europe, to continue to support ukraine, that is going to make all the difference. again, not in the next five years, but i do believe that -- monumental moment that is going

it is also the smaller, less covered -- broader political trends. we want to highlight a series of democratic wins this week, at the ballot box, that you might have missed. this week, jennifer mcclelland made history as the first black woman to be elected to congress in virginia. winning the special election in the state's fourth congressional district, erwin shrinks the already razor-thin majority republicans have in the house. here is the congresswoman-elect speaking to my colleague jonathan capehart on her historic win. >> words can't describe it really. i had to pinch myself, every morning. and i am just so thrilled. i am excited, just to roll my sleeves and get to work. >> also this week, democrats won back a state house see in new hampshire with democrat chuck grassley were defeating his republican challenger by 12 points. and in deep red kentucky, democrat casey chambers are strong won a special -- see in the gop dominated -- senate. this week shows that not only does everyone matter, but every

election matters as well. showing up every time, no matter what, can be a big difference in your community. let's bring back my panel. maria do, you think that these winds, indicate a broader trend for democrats? >> i do. i think it is part of the tail end of what we saw during the red wave, that wasn't. it is so many americans coming together, recognizing that what the republicans represent right now in this moment is an extremist view of what it means to run a democracy effectively and efficiently. and what we saw with mccarthy, when he was chosen, we expected perhaps the extreme right of his party to be tempt down. we saw the opposite. we are seeing marjorie taylor greene, we are seeing math gas, we're seeing all of them coming out of the woodwork and being extreme in places that make most independent and moderate republicans uncomfortable. not only are they trying to undermine the democratic president, more importantly, what they are seeing is they

are trying to undermine and continue to divide the united states. marjorie taylor greene's saying that there should be a divorce between the red states and the blue states, that doesn't sit well with the majority of americans recognize that we have one flag, and that one flag is our patriotism that brings us together. so if anything, mccarthy is trying to figure out, how does he break his right wing of the party back under his control. because it is are -- almost impossible growth for the republicans to get the 2024's white house. >> what is, congresswoman, what is jennifer mcclelland's win mean for kevin mccarthy's leadership in the house? the gop already has a razor-thin majority to begin with. he needs every vote he can get. how does this impact him at all, if it does? >> so, this is going to be much more complicated for kevin mccarthy. because there are certain republicans that have been elected in this congress that are sitting in districts where they are really purple districts. they are beholden to the people

that sent them to congress. so he is going to have to bring in that caucus along to pass some of the most extreme pieces of legislation. i have heard from several republican members, with the one in pennsylvania, one in south carolina, that they are opposed to the extreme position on taking away a woman's right to choose. they are also completely opposed to this, what we are just discussing, to defunding the war in ukraine. they need to focus on issues that are going to resonate in their district. so now, all we need for democrats in the caucus is those five republicans who will vote with democrats to be able to do the work for the american people. let's remember, there is only one party in washington d.c. that is going to be doing that. who is trying to reduce -- costs? who's trying to protect voting rights? who is trying to make sure that we are protecting a woman's privacy and our freedom of choice when it comes to our reproductive health care? that is only one party, and that is the democratic party. >> yeah. and all it is also happening on

the state level, congresswoman. i want to ask you about some of the state politics here. you have new democratic -controlled minnesota senate, mitch should get house, they are passing bills at a record breaking pace. last month alone they passed more bills then during pass january's in the last six sessions combined. and to your point, these bills include protections of reproductive health, including small businesses, a lot of other issues. this really proves that not only does every vote matter, but every election matters, right? >> exactly. and let me just say that for too long, the democratic party was really leaving behind a lot of the state legislature elections. and what republicans have shown is how important these were elections are, and how much power some of these states had. instructing where freedoms. so we are seeing it right here -- and so, what we have seen in michigan, specifically in michigan, after one of the worst mass shootings that that state just -- banning assault weapons, making sure that they passed gun safety restrictions.

so they don't just experience the shootings that we are seeing all over the united states. and so, state legislatures have a lot of power. it is very important that we participate in that will -- everyone comes up to vote. >> maria we, have a 45 seconds but. i want to ask you about this wisconsin state supreme court election that is taking place. -- previously revised -- to overturn the 2020 election results. talk to me about the danger of an election denier possibly sitting on one of the states highest courts. >> well, we saw what happened when you had someone, so many individuals trying to run for office, for the secretary of state's or election deniers -- right out rejected them. in the, i think the biggest challenge that the democrats have is that republicans, on the extreme right, are building a bench to overthrow and undermine our democracy, in the sanctity of people trusting our democracy is what matters most. so this is something that we
